Common Washer Repair Issues We Fix

Not draining — water left in tub
The most common washer call we get. Usually a clogged drain pump filter, failed drain pump, jammed lid switch (top-load), or blocked drain hose. We clear or replace the faulty component and test a full drain cycle before we leave.
Not spinning or spin cycle weak
A broken drive belt is the most common cause on top-loaders. Front-loaders often have a faulty motor coupling, door latch, or control board. Clothes coming out soaking wet is a spin issue — we identify and fix the exact cause.
Leaking water
Front-loaders most commonly leak from a torn door boot seal. Top-loaders typically leak from hose connections, the water inlet valve, or a cracked tub seal. We trace the exact source — water travels before it hits the floor, so we don't guess.
Won't start or no power
A failed lid switch (top-load) or door latch (front-load) is the first thing we check — most washers won't run unless the switch is fully engaged. Beyond that: blown thermal fuse, failed control board, or timer. We diagnose at the component level.
Excessive shaking or vibrating
Worn shock absorbers (front-load) or suspension rods (top-load) cause violent shaking that can damage floors and the machine itself. We replace the worn suspension components and check drum bearings for secondary wear.
Not filling with water
A clogged or failed water inlet valve is almost always the culprit. The valve screens trap sediment over time and restrict flow. We also check the pressure switch and control board if the valve is clear. Quick fix in most cases.
Loud banging, grinding, or squealing
Banging usually means an object caught in the drum or worn drum bearings. Grinding points to a failing pump or motor bearing. Squealing is typically a worn drive belt or bearing. We identify the exact source rather than replacing parts by feel.
Error codes on display
Modern washers display error codes that tell us exactly where to look. We carry reference data for all major brands — Samsung (E, F, 5E, LE, nF), LG (OE, UE, IE, FE), Whirlpool, GE, and more. We read the code and act on it, not around it.
